RRibs Isle of Wight

Red Eye is the first production RIB to be powered by one of the brand new Yamaha V6 300BETX outboard engines, the top of the range of Yamaha's new V6 series of outboard motors.

Red Eye was specifically commissioned for RRIBS to provide RIB Charter Services throughout The Solent and the Isle of Wight. Red Eye has been expertly built by the engineers at Ribeye in Dartmouth, and was launched at the PSP Southampton Boat Show in September 2010. Red Eye is designed and equipped to safely carry 12 people including the helm.

Red Eye is the pure thoroughbred, fast, high performance Ribeye 785S S series RIB. The Ribeye 785S has a monocoque deep 'V' hull, and is designed to cope with the most demanding seas. It provides first class handling capabilities at high speed, thereby ensuring a safe and stable ride.

The V6 300BETX was launched at Ribex in May 2010, and has already won high acclaim worldwide as having the greatest power-to-weight ratio of any outboard engine and is the lightest 300HP outboard on the market. Yamaha are the world leaders in high performance marine engines and are renowned for their performance, reliability and real fuel efficiency. Following sea trials for RRIBS, Red Eye was fitted with a 19" Yamaha Saltwater stainless steel propellor, providing effortless power and acceleration.
